Watson Wellness Center Medical Clinic is an organization that represents an offspring and legacy of the Arlington Medical Center where the late Dr. James A. Watson spent his whole life devoting his services to the people of Oakland and its surrounding area. He has always had great personal respect for all of his patients, their families, and the community without regard to sex, race or socioeconomic status. This humble giant of a man has instilled values for personal health care that are rarely experienced within the managed care services environment. For this reason, Preventive Care Network Medical Services, Inc. is incorporating the personal values of Dr. James A. Watson into a new system of health care which includes a holistic approach to medicine within this dynamic legacy known as The James A. Watson Wellness Center – home of The Health Beat Show.

The James A. Watson Wellness Center provides educational programs and treatments that emphasize a variety of health and fitness concepts. A student of Dr. James Watson, Dr. Geoffrey Watson has expanded the definition of health to include the physical, psychological, socioeconomic and spiritual state of well-being and not simply the absence of illness or infirmity. The James A. Watson Wellness Center believes that access to preventive care programs must be available to not only the wealthy and affluent but also to the needy and underserved.

Dr. Geoffrey Watson believes that “Your health is your wealth and if you knew better, you would do better because when you have your health, you have everything!”© To address the medical needs of his community, Dr. Geoffrey Watson, a native of Oakland, California, joined his father, James A. Watson, M.D., in the art of medicine and practiced as a primary care provider at the Oakland historical landmark known as the Arlington Medical Center from 1985 until 1992, when Dr. James Watson retired.

Dr. Geoffrey Watson founded a new health care delivery system in a dynamic legacy known as The James A. Watson Wellness Center, where he and his retired father had been rejoined to devote their services to the people of Oakland and its surrounding area. The Center was relocated to Oakland’s “Pill Hill” where they practiced medicine until 2005, when it moved “Back to the Future” by repurchasing their pride and joy, the Arlington Medical Building. Today, the goal of this historical landmark medical center, located in the heart of the flat lands of North Oakland, continues to be to provide high quality care and services and to enhance and maintain the overall wellness of all people served by the Center. Dr. James Watson passed in 2007 and left his legacy within his community through the blessings of quality healthcare as provided by Dr. H. Geoffrey Watson, The James A. Watson Wellness Center and its staff of caring providers and administrators.
